ARMED cops swooped on an ...active shooter... in a southern California neighborhood yesterday as terrified residents fled their homes. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department confirmed officers were called to reports of an armed man barricaded inside a house in Lancaster shortly after 3pm. 865Google MapsA person barricaded themselves inside a home in Lancaster, California '/ ' The cops said the Special Enforcement Bureau \- who are responsible for high-risk tactical operations \- had been called in to deal with the suspect at a property in 31ST St W. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Special Enforcement Bureau confirmed they were assisting with the incident. Locals were reportedly evacuated as cops dealt with the incident for several hours. An eyewitness reported seeing a helicopter circling above and telling the suspect to come out with their hands on their head. One neighbor said the chaos started after an officer attempted to stop the suspect and they fled into an apartment in the Palmdale neighborhood.
