Medics released this grisly image of the stones after a three-hour surgery It's the highest number of kidney stones ever removed from a single patient in the country, doctors claimed. Hospital chiefs said the man had suddenly developed a searing pain. Tests were carried out which showed a whopping cluster of the stones. But there was even worse news to come for the stricken patient. Doctors discovered the stones were in his abdomen, rather than in their normal position in the urinary tract. It meant they were forced to carry out keyhole surgery. Dr V Chandra Mohan of the Preeti Urology and Kidney Hospital said: "This patient might have been developing these stones for more than two years, but never experienced any symptoms in the past.
