Working out on your path to pregnancy & during pregnancy does wonders for you & your future baby!😃 I was a fitness freak in 2014-2016 when I was still in the PH, and it actually payed off now that I am a mother (of two)! My 1st pregnancy took place in March 2017 & I’ve migrated here in the UK 2 mos. before I gave birth. Since then I haven’t been to the gym but it didn’t stop me from working out a few months after I gave birth whenever time permitted me at home. It's a great idea to get a fitness routine in place before you get pregnant, so you'll have time to strengthen your arms, back, hips & legs so you can carry your baby around with ease. Moreover, it will help boost fertility, lower weight gains, decrease the risk of developing gestational diabetes & high blood pressure during pregnancy, and all the potential complications associated w/these diseases. It’s also not bad to exercise moderately during pregnancy because it’ll help boost your baby's brain development & heart health. You don’t necessarily need to go to the gym, you only need to stay active throughout your pregnancy even if it’s just walking in the woods, gardening or housework, anything that gets your heart pumping most days of the week. I admit, motivation could be really tough to come by, even tougher to execute exercises at home with a toddler & toughest now that I have a new baby!😅 ‘Self-discipline & balance’ is the key, but I honestly don’t know if I could do exercises this time after I recover from my C-section in a few months apart from doing household chores & walking in parks since I am a hands-on Mum!😂 But I’m so glad that I’ve worked out before & during my pregnancies ‘coz my muscles stayed intact. As soon as I delivered, my muscle memory took over & my body remembered how it used to look like. Our bodies change over time though, it takes a while to get close to our prepregnancy shape & size whether we’ve worked out or not. Breastfeeding will also help you lose the baby weight as long as you’re eating a healthy diet & not overdoing it. Cheers to all mothers out there! Enjoy every moment of motherhood and just keep a positive attitude for it will lead you to positive outcomes!

“Working out on your path to pregnancy & during pregnancy does wonders for you & your future baby!” she told fellow moms.

Garcia noted that she was a “fitness freak” from 2014 to 2016 while she still lived in the Philippines. However, she has not been able to visit a gym since she moved to the United Kingdom and gave birth to her firstborn in 2017.

Though she could not go to a gym during her first pregnancy, the actress continued to work out at home whenever she could.

“It’s a great idea to get a fitness routine in place before you get pregnant, so you’ll have time to strengthen your arms, back, hips & legs so you can carry your baby around with ease,” Garcia added.

She pointed out too that exercising can help boost one’s fertility, lower weight gain and decrease the risk of developing gestational diabetes and high blood pressure during pregnancy.

“It’s also not bad to exercise moderately during pregnancy because it’ll help boost your baby’s brain development [and] heart health,” the mother of two stated.

Garcia explained that simply walking or doing any activity get one’s heart pumping is enough. Though she is a fitness enthusiast, the actress admits that finding the motivation to work out can be hard, especially with a toddler and a newborn.

Garcia also noted that she may not be able to exercise regularly now as she recovers from a Caesarian section.

“But I’m so glad that I’ve worked out before [and] during my pregnancies [because] my muscles stayed intact. As soon as I delivered, my muscle memory took over [and] my body remembered how it used to look like,” she said.

She then acknowledged that getting back into one’s pre-pregnancy shape may take a while regardless of whether one chooses to exercise. Garcia also suggested that breastfeeding can help a mother lose “baby weight” if they are eating healthy and not overdoing it.

Garcia welcomed her second child, Isabella, last July in London. She married Birchmore in three different ceremonies, namely a civil wedding in London, a church wedding after, and a beach wedding in Boracay in January 2017.  /ra

In an Instagram post on Thursday, Padilla said that he first experienced having a clogged nose, which later led to coughing.

Padilla added that his daughter Isabella later had the flu, and quickly spread to the little girl’s mom, her sister Gabriela and to her godmother Analyn.

“Alhamdulillah naagapan ang pagkalat sa mga ibang kasamahan dahil sa kagyat na pag quarantine sa aming may mga flu at ang pagkarga ng vitamin c ng lahat ng mga nasa bahay at ang pagsaksak ng flu vaccine sa mga hindi carrier,” Padilla said.

(Praise be to God, the virus was prevented because those who had the flu went to quarantine. Those who live in our home also took their Vitamin C and had their shot of the flu vaccine.)

In Padilla’s post, it also showed that he, his wife, and Analyn underwent a nasopharyngeal swab test for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Their results turned out negative.

The action star then thanked his wife, saying: “Maraming salamat babe @marieltpadilla sa pag aalaga mo sa aming lahat kahit hirap ka sa paghinga inaasikaso mo pa kaming lahat.”

(Thank you babe for taking care of us even though you had a hard time breathing, you still chose to prioritize all of us.)

He likewise expressed gratitude to his mom for checking on them, as well as the doctors who were there to check his and his family’s condition.

An Associated Press (AP) report said it was “impossible” to tell if someone has contracted the flu or COVID-19 as both illnesses share similar symptoms.

One difference is that people with the flu typically feel sickest during the first week of illness. Those with COVID-19 may feel the worst during the second or third week, and they may be sicker for a longer period.

Dr. Daniel Solomon, an infectious diseases expert at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston, also told AP that it was possible to be infected with both viruses at the same time.

To date, the Philippines has 296,755 COVID-19 cases, with 231,928 recoveries and 5,127 deaths.

Kapuso star Tom Rodriguez warned the public of phishing scams on social media, especially on Instagram, after an unknown user tried to scam him on the platform.

Rodriguez took to his Instagram Stories yesterday, Sept. 24, to share a short screen recording of the alleged scammer’s message to him and account to warn other netizens.

“Don’t be a victim of these [‘Phishing’] schemes… kahit may blue checkmark pa, hindi ibig sabihin legit (even if they have blue checkmarks, it does not mean that these are legit),” he stressed.

“Nanakawin lang ang details nyo ng site nila since nakaw lang din ang account na to (They will just steal your details since this account is also just stolen anyway),” the actor added.

The suspected scammer’s message identified itself as being from Instagram’s Copyright Help Center and Customer Service and told Rodriguez that they had detected a copyright violation on his account.

To amend this apparent violation, they asked Rodriguez to provide details via a certain link, a move Rodriguez warned the public to be cautious about.

The said private account, which the actor says is just a stolen one, has around 252,000 followers.

The Department of Justice last July warned the public of a significant increase in cybercrimes amid the pandemic, which include phishing and spreading of fake news.

The National Bureau of Investigation and Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas recorded a 100% increase in phishing activities in April, just around a month after quarantine restrictions were imposed on Luzon.  /ra

Celebrities criticized the idea of postponing the 2022 national elections due to the pandemic after it was raised by Pampanga 2nd Dist. Rep. Mikey Arroyo.

Arroyo floated the thought during House deliberations on the proposed 2021 budget of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) yesterday, Sept. 24. Following his remark, artists quickly expressed their disagreement with the idea via their Twitter pages.

Kean Cipriano stated that he is against it and stressed that it is one’s right to vote. He also asked the government to focus on finding solutions to beat the pandemic instead of postponing the 2022 elections “[b]ecause every Filipino deserves good leadership.”

“Pagkatapos palabasin ang mga tao para bumalik ang ekonomiya, ngayon sasabihin ipagpaliban ang 2022 elections (which is [two] years from now) kasi takot ang mga tao?” he asked. “So sinsabi [niyo] ba na sa 2022 wala parin tayong solusyon sa pandemya?”

(After making people go out to revive the economy, now you are saying the 2022 elections (which is [two] years from now) will be postponed because people are scared? So are you saying that by 2022 we still have no solution to the pandemic?)

“No way! BOBOTO AKO SA (I will vote in) 2022!” Cipriano declared.

Meanwhile, Nikki Valdez pointed out how people voluntarily visited Manila Bay recently despite the pandemic.

“Nope. Di nga natakot magpapicture sa pekeng white sand nung nagbukas eh,” she said. “Bumoto pa kaya?!”

(People were not afraid to have their pictures taken on the fake white sand when it opened. What more when voting?)

She then described the idea as “[k]alokohan (nonsense).” As for Jason Abalos, he suggested that Arroyo should be canceled, instead of the 2022 elections.

He also reminded Arroyo and the other legislators that they need to follow the Constitution.

Despite Arroyo raising the possibility of postponing the elections, Comelec Sheriff Abas stated that they had never considered doing so.

“Because alam naman natin that this is a constitutional mandate at fixed yung nilagay (Because we know this is a constitutional mandate and it is fixed),” Abas said.

The Comelec is also thinking of holding the 2022 elections for two days instead of one day so they can regulate the number of voters in the precincts.  /ra

After bagging the top honor in the United States International Film and Video Festival earlier this year, “Jake and Charice” has now been nominated in the 2020 International Emmy Awards.

The documentary, based on the life of singer-songwriter Jake Zyrus, is up for an Emmy win under the Arts Programming category, as revealed by the award-giving body yesterday, Sept. 24.

Zyrus likewise shared the news on his own Instagram account on the same day, saying, “Surreal. Thank you @iemmys – It’s an honor.”

The documentary premiered in Japan in November 2019, where it garnered the Gold Camera award. It tells the story of Zyrus’s new life after transitioning from Charice Pempengco into the transgender man he is today.

“Jake and Charice” will be going up against “Refavela” of Brazil’s HBO Brasil/Conspiração, “Vertige de la Chute (Ressaca)” of France’s Babel Doc/France Televisions and “Why Do We Dance?” of the United Kingdom’s Sky Arts Production Hub.

“Congratulations to all the Nominees! – we are especially proud to recognize and honor the world’s best storytellers, producers and performers,” Bruce Paisner, president and CEO of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, said in the release.

“At a time of crisis where most of us have to stay home most of the time, television entertains us and provides a window on our world,” he added.

“Jake and Charice,” produced by Japan’s national broadcasting organization NHK in cooperation with ABS-CBN, enters the list representing Japan. This year’s International Emmy Awards has 44 nominees across 11 categories and 20 countries.

This is not Zyrus’ first time to work with Japanese filmmakers, however, as she previously starred as Akira in the movie “Yaru Onna” (“She’s a Killer”) back in 2018.

The award-giving body noted that nominated program trailers and exclusive nominee interviews will be featured during the International Emmy World Television Festival from Nov. 13 to 23 on the International Academy’s website.

Winners will also be announced on Nov. 23 at a ceremony produced in New York City. Further details will, meanwhile, be announced in October.  /ra
